Win 95/98/ME Setting Up Dial-Up Networking

Installing Dial-Up Networking

If you didn't load Dial-Up networking when you installed Windows 95, you need to add it before you can create a connection to the Internet.

•     From the Start menu, select "Settings" then "Control Panels"
•     Double-click on the "Add/Remove Programs" control panel to open it.
•     Click on the "Windows Setup" tab.

•     Click on the "Communications" component to select it, then on the "Details" button.
•
Make sure that "Dial-Up Networking" is checked. If it is not, then click on it to check it.

•     After this is done, click on the "OK" button to close the component details.
Close the control panel. Windows 95 may ask you to insert your Windows 95 installation CD-ROM and/or to restart your computer.

Installing TCP/IP

•     Open the Control Panel and double-click the "Network" icon. Select "Configuration" tab and push "Add" button.
