How
do I publish my Web page on the Net?
The Standard Account allocates
a web space for Personal Users. To use this space and publish your Web page
on the net, you must transfer it from your computer (upload) to CAL Internet
Services (CALIS) server or you can create the files while logged into your shell
account.
In
order to upload your files, you can use a FTP program such as ws_ftp. The FTP
software allows you to transfer your files to the CALIS server. The WS FTP software
program can be obtained in two ways. The ws_ftp program can be found under WIN32_UTIL/Wsftp
directory of the installation CD provided by CALIS, or can be downloaded from
the Internet ( www.download.com ).
Once ws_ftp is installed, setup a new profile by entering a
Profile Name, "ftp.calis.com" as Host Name, your username for User
ID, and your password.

Then, simply make the connection and change the directory
on the server to "public_html" and on your machine to where your files
reside. Now, you are ready to transfer your files from your local machine to CALIS
server. Please note that the username, password, and file names are all case-sensitive.
You can access your web page (URL) at http://www.calis.com/~username.
The default html file that gets loaded when you type your URL address is index.html.
If you do not name your homepage index.html, typing in your Web address will
not automatically bring up your homepage.
