Changing Your Password

To change your account password, fill out the form below and then press the submit button at the bottom of the page. Please be sure to read the suggestions on choosing a good password before continuing!

Login		Your account login name.
Current password		The secret "key" you currently use to connect to Cal Internet systems.
New password		The password that you want to use when logging in.
Password confirmation		The same thing that you typed for "New password", just to make sure you typed what you thought you did.

Suggestions for creating a good password:

Take the first letter of each word in an uncommon phrase. For example, turn "How much wood would a woodchuck chuck?" into "hMwWawcC?".
Replace words, letters, or phrases with allegorical numbers or characters. To further contort the last example, you could use "hM2waW-Cc?".
Don't use information that might be easy to guess or learn, like common phrases, your birthday, or your Social Security Number. The phrase, "How much wood would a woodchuck chuck?" probably isn't the greatest to choose, especially since it's used as an example here.
After all of that, still try to come up with something you can remember. If you have to write it down anywhere, you're defeating the purpose of the password.

Rules on choosing an acceptable password:

Dictionary words are not allowed, nor are simple permutations of such.
Simple patterns aren't allowed (e.g., "abc-abc").
Simple derivatives of your login and GECOS information (i.e., account description) aren't allowed.
Passwords must be at least 6 characters long.
